Design Statement

I am a professional pastel artist and photographer. My plan is to take selected pastel drawings and photographs from previous exhibitions. They will be ink-jet printed in color on Epson presentation matte paper. The sizes will be approximately 4 x 6 format pieces. The ox will be decoupaged with these for his “Blanket” (see outlined ox). Isolated, cut out details from the drawings and photographs will be used in different sizes and decoupaged in the other areas. Outdoor ModPodge is the decoupage medium that will be used. It is a water-based sealer and glue with a gloss finish.

In 2006, I created a dog “Sparkle” similar to the ox (much smaller) to raise money for Princeton Hospital. I have included photos to see my concept of decoupage. It is very difficult to be specific since decoupage is an “In the moment” medium. When the ox has been completely covered, I will add the bling of Swarovski crystals to accent.
