ArtSpires waiting for installation

ArtSpires is the newest community art project and exhibition by the Hopewell Valley Arts Council with sculptures on display from September 2020 through spring 2021.

Spy which spires are sprouting and where! Download the map below for installation locations, updated regularly. Check out the virtual ArtSpires exhibition for information about artists and artwork. Catch our Facebook live virtual ribbon cutting on September 20 at 3pm. Plus, join the public online auction, ending on December 3rd 2020, for a chance to own an ArtSpire, with proceeds benefiting the artists and the HV Arts Council.

The ArtSpires project commemorates the loss of native ash trees from the harmful effects of the emerald ash borer beetle as part of the organization’s ongoing initiative Out of the Ashes: Art Emerging from Fallen Trees. ArtSpires are milled from American ash wood felled by Hopewell Township and PSE&G and transformed, by the HV Arts Council, into art.

Are you on Facebook or Instagram? #HVArtSpires as you spot them!

ArtSpire Exhibition Map

The ArtSpire Exhibition map is available online! This beautiful map of Hopewell Valley indicates the spire locations along with an index of the artists’ names and the spire titles. As the spires are installed in September and October, they will pop-up on the map. So come back regularly, or stay tuned to the HV Arts Council social media channels, to see what’s new.

A Unique Holiday Gift! Own an ArtSpire!

The ArtSpire online auction bidding will start on November 1 and conclude on Thursday December 3 at 7:00pm during a fun live telecast. Spires will stay in their installation location until April 2021 and then be delivered to their new owners. Proceeds from the auction benefit the individual artists and support the mission of the Hopewell Valley Arts Council.

Thank you to our ArtSpire Sponsors

We seem to select public art projects that are large and heavy – first the Stampede oxen – and now fallen ash trees! As with all of our projects, it would be impossible without the support of our generous sponsors. Shier Tree Expert and Dudes with a Truck are handling transportation of the large wood, and Delis Landscaping will be installing the art spires for the exhibition.

Please help us pay it forward by supporting those who support our community with your patronage. Thank you!
