THIS TOO SHALL PASS

an exhibition of artworkby Hopewell Valley Arts Council members

Due to the continuation of the COVID-related closures, the timeline for the Hopewell Valley Arts Council members art show, This Too Shall Pass, has been extended.

We will continue to monitor the State of New Jersey’s guidelines and will post specific dates as soon as possible.

Member show 2019 at Capital Health-Hopewell

Although the delay is disappointing, there is more time to make art for the show! In the meantime, we will work toward the following relative dates:

  • Registration deadline extended: Two weeks prior to the announced opening date of art show venue, the Hopewell Valley Bistro.
  • Drop-off: One week prior to show opening date.
  • Opening date: TBD
  • Exhibition date: From opening date (TBD) through the end of October 2020.

If opening dates for New Jersey are pushed back significantly, we will shift to hosting an online event.

A new element has been added to the exhibition! Selected artwork shall be accompanied by a one-paragraph statement of work about how the stay-at-home orders have inspired you or changed how you approach your work. Submission directions will be included with the acceptance letter.

Call for Art!

The global health pandemic brings with it fear, dislocation, and loss. But it also brings with it a unique opportunity to slow down, reflect, and reprioritize as we stay at home. As artists, we jump at the opportunity of free time to dive into our creative activities, often with a surge of inspiration, during difficult times like these.

We hope This Too Shall Pass will encourage the community to come out of their homes, be rejuvenated by your artwork, and safely break bread together in support of one of our local restaurants.

Exhibition Location & Dates

The show is scheduled to be on display on date TBD through the end of October, 2020 at the Hopewell Valley Bistro & Inn, 15 East Broad Street, Hopewell New Jersey, 08525. For restaurant hours and info, see www.hopewellvalleybistro.com.
